Well to start of this review I think I need to tell you what play I was in and who was in it. Well I was in a play called " The Santa Trap ". The characters in the play were Dylan,Michael,Tania,Amy, Goody Two Shoes Sophie and of course Santa. I was Dylan, James was Michael, Charlize was Tania, Lily was Amy, Tessa was Sophie and Nathaniel was Santa! I loved our play! It was really fun being the kids on the top of the naughty list! I was a messy boy who hadn't cleaned his room since before he was born! Charlize and James were twins who were a bit strange. James was Scottish! Lily had a character who is practically the ruler of them all. Tessa was Amy's little sister who always got great presents for Christmas. Nathaniel was still the Santa we all know and love and he got caught in a Santa Trap of course!
There was another play called " Problems at the Pole " where all the reindeer's went on strike! There was about 7 characters and most of them were reindeer. There Mrs Claus,Santa,Rudolph,Blitzen,Prancer,Donner,Vixen and other reindeer. It was really quite funny and I think that they picked the characters very well. Daniel was the loving Mrs Claus. Luca was Santa! Lewis was Rudolph. But I have no idea who was which reindeer because they didn't tell who was who.

I love DTG! It is my favourite subject apart from Options. I think that how DTG is apart of the Learning Curriculum. Right now we are making comics with Comic Life. Science Subject Review...
Right now we are doing wasp traps and I think that is pretty fun. Last night I made a trap with vinegar and water as bait. We placed them today and there was only 6 of us that did it. Before the science classes I don't really get excited but I deal with it and get through the class.

I don't like maths because I get very confused with the whole idea of maths because if I can't think of the answer everyone blurts it out and I don't get a shot at it. I sometimes like maths because it can be fun but when it involves decimals and percentages I freeze up and not do anything.

Art Subject Review...
Personally I think that Art is a bit flat because I am not great at it. I actually used to be good at Art when I was little because one of my pieces got chosen to be in an art gallery in Dunedin. I actually won something and that was probably the end of my art career. Later on my artwork got transferred onto a dress for the production we did at my old school. I was so amazed that my artwork actually won 2nd prize but I am lacking in art skills now. I cannot draw but I love painting!

Wasps are Invading Twizel!!
If you ever seem to get stung by a wasp this is how you can treat it:
Tessa told me that when she got her first wasp sting she found out that she was actually allergic to them so she had to go to the doctors. To fix the wasp sting they mixed baking powder and water together it becomes a paste and they spread it on the area where she got stung. Once it has hardened they wipe it off and the swelling went down a bit. She had to continue that process for a couple days until the sting is all gone! It took 3 days for her but if it is terrible it might take a bit longer than 3 days!
In my whole life I have never been stung by a wasp and I never want to but I know it will happen one day!

I am a pair of Pointe Shoes...
If I had to bring an object to school I would bring a pair of Pointe Shoes...A pair of pointe shoes symbolises me because, Pointe shoes are hard at the tip but soft on the inside. That's like me because some days I am hard and some days I can be soft. You can have ouch pouches and they protect your feet from the hard end of the shoe. When my friends get upset I help them come back to being their normal selves. They help you grow to be taller and more confident. I want to help my friends become themselves and be more confident. They can become dirty, munted and that represents how you can get hurt during life but, you can wash them and make them clean again and you can do that with yourself. You will heal and not stay like that forever. That's how I am a pair of Pointe shoes.

Conserving Artifacts...
My thoughts on what it would be like to " work " in Antarctica...
I would not like to work in Antarctica because I would probably freeze and be so cold I wouldn't do anything. But the brighter side of working in Antarctica is you get paid for conserving objects which is pretty cool!
What Shelly talked about...
How she could smell the seal blubber and it was quite overwhelming. She talked to about 4 people and and they all had a different opinion on working at Antarctica. Apparently seal blubber could of been used for cooking because it is practically fat. It would keep them warm so they didn't freeze! Later on today she is going to head back to Scott Base and learn how to preserve some artefacts.
They travelled to discovery hut and it was built by Robert Falcon Scott in 1902. It is also and Australian building because it was transported from Australia and it was actually a kit and they figured out how to put it up fairly quickly. It was also the first hut that he built in Antarctica! Discovery Hut is on Ross Island too!
There's some rules if you go into Discovery Hut:
Don't touch anything!
There's a boot mat to get all of the snow off.
No food and drink in there.
Try not to kick any of the artefacts on the floor or all around the hut.
You have to take off your pack

How I found out about the U.S.A election results...
Well, I was sitting on the couch watching my favourite show Masterchef Australia when the adds came on I was just about to get up and get my drink bottle when the U.S elections came on. One news was having an update on the elections and I heard this " Welcome the new president of the United States, Donald Trump. " I flopped onto the couch and let out a big sigh. Later on I went outside and told my Mum that Donald Trump is the new president.
How I feel about it...
I feel shocked! I am amazed at the Americans that voted for him. I am not scared about Donald Trump because he lives in America and is the president of them not us!
Why did he win...
Well I believe that Americans are a bit sexist because there was a girl running for president so they voted for the male AKA Donald Trump. Or maybe he rigged it because how else could he win!

" CRASH! " I give a little squeal and I clutch Tessa even harder. I'm shaking all over and the forbidding, eerie feel of the building isn't really helping. I listen closely and again I hear loud footsteps. There coming closer than before. All of a sudden I hear a menacing laugh. It's makes me feel like I am being watched by someone. I'm sitting in my sleeping bag wondering who is there. Tessa has decided to not listen anymore and rest her head on her pillow. She has gone right to sleep without even telling me! I forget about her and reach for my torch in my packed to the brim bag. I pull it out and switch it on. I see a shadowy figure in the corridor. It's seems to be moving around. Actually pacing up and down. I turn my torch off and I gather my things together.
I look down the corridor and see a pair of glowing, white, heartless eyes. I turn around and say to myself " It's fake your imagining it, Blossom " I spin around and the creature is gone. It's disappeared so fast it must be invisible. Suddenly I feel a cold breath on the back of my neck. Then I hear a hair-raising yell and then all I see is darkness.
2 hours later
I open my eyes. They have to adjust to the light because all I can see is a bright light in my face. A watchful eye keeps staring at me. Finally my eyes adjust to the light and I can see what is looming over me. It has razor sharp claws, A disgusting face, and last of all a secret inside. A petrifying face pops in front of me and I scream at the top of my lungs. Inside my head I hear a phone ringing. My eyes pop open and I see Tessa,Lily,Charlize and a doctor sitting in front of me. I ask " What's happening? "

Is what I heard from the opposite side of the track. All of a sudden I saw Charlize bolt down the track and I was getting pumped up for my turn in the relay. Charlize was approaching quick and fast. All of a sudden she said " Go " In a very quiet voice. I started to jog. Charlize passed the baton to me and I sprinted off. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the Upper Waitaki girl right beside me. We were neck and neck. I said to myself " I can do this " Suddenly I ran that little bit faster. I passed her and I was overjoyed with joy of course!

What it's like being in the wave team...
Well, being in the wave team is very stressful and kind of annoying. Why is it annoying? To start of, we have meetings at random times! She doesn't warn us and we sometimes miss them. But that's the stressful part of being in the wave team.
Yesterday we had the Amazing Race happening and that was probably the most stressed I've been since I've been in the team. Lily and I were looking after the " Word Game ". The point of the game is we give each team a set of letters and they have to make a word like " Umbrella " out of the letters. They have to spell it correctly before the time stops. We write down their time and announce who won out of the teams that vs each other. Overall it was so stressful and I was this close to yelling at the kids a little to harshly!

Water Challenge...
What it means to me...
This challenge isn't really a challenge because I automatically drink water at home and at school but I think that this will be a really hard challenge for some people because at school I see some people drinking sugary drinks so I wonder how hard this will be for them.
That's my opinion on sugary drinks and the challenge so here are some facts about water and sugary drinks.
Water
One of the things that makes our planet special is the presence of liquid water. Water is fundamental for all life; without it every living thing would die. It covers about 70% of Earth's surface and it makes up 65-75% of our bodies (82% of our blood is water). Even though water seems boring - no color, taste, or smell - it has amazing properties that make it necessary for supporting life.
It is said to help us prevent kidney damage, lose weight and increase concentration levels.
But experts now warn that drinking eight glasses of water a day is not good for you after all – and could be harmful.
They say that scientific claims behind long-standing government guidelines are worse than ‘nonsense’.
The NHS – along with leading doctors and nutritionists – advises the public to drink about 1.2 litres (or two-and-a-half pints) of water per day.
However, a report describes the danger of dehydration as a ‘myth’ and says there is no evidence behind claims that water prevents multiple health problems.
Sugary Drinks
Soda is one of the most consumed beverages in the United States, second only to water. Here in the States, Americans guzzle 57 gallons of soda per person every year, as if it wasn’t full of sugary calories. But what’s happening inside the bodies of soda consumers with each sip?

In case you guys didn't know I'm a dragon and I am an actor. If your wondering how I became the wonderful actor I am now I will tell you the story from the very beginning... oh yeah and my name's Elliott.
" Kendall on set...where's Kendall?...KENDALL!!! "
If your wondering where I am, I'm hiding in a bush staring at my love Kendall. She is my idol. She is a brilliant actor. But there is one slight problem, She doesn't know I exist. That does mean there is a plus to it. I can stare at her all day long. Ahhh.
" Does anyone else see a dragon? Anyone, because I see one in the bush over there! Its massive and green and furry! "
I recognise that voice anywhere. That's Kendall's voice. It's amazing...when she speaks, it feels like I'm lying in clouds with her speaking and making me fe-
"KILL IT!!,It's going to destroy the set! It will set it ablaze,fire will go everywhere and the movie will be ruined.More importantly I will be ruined!" yelled the producer!
" It's alright, it looks like a friendly dragon, but it sort of looks like it's in a trance?"
Did Kendall just say I was friendly! Now's my chance to jump out and introduce myself!
" Hello, I'm Elliott, I am your biggest fan! You are an amazing actor. Your voice is like the sun on a hot summer day."
" Are you saying that my voice is like the sun. The ball of gas that sits there and burns people everyday!"

" Ugh, goodbye" As Kendall storms off Elliott is heartbroken. As he watches Kendall storm off he knows ho much he loves her and will come back tomorrow and love her even more.
The very next day Elliott arrives back at the movie set and find's Kendall. He spots her up on stage performing in her movie. Once she's done the scene Elliott follows her everywhere. Asking her question's. Kendall ignoring him. The producer comes over tries to get rid of Elliott but he is not budging. One time Elliott made an appearance on the big screen. The producer was furious. He knew that the movie would be a flop but as soon as the newspaper came out, the movie was rated with 5 stars!
The Daily Feed Report
What a smash! The real life " Beauty and the Beast " was a great hit. With the amazing animation of the green dragon, it just made the movie even better. The realism of the dragon and how Kendall actually believed that it was there was spectacular!

When the producer reads this he is astonished.He cannot believe that the dragon made our movie get 5 stars! When he reads the comments from the public there all amazing!

Again the producer was amazed and he actually changed his mind about the dragon and purposely put him in the movie's as a co-star for Kendall. Kendall did not like the sound of it but she had to put up with it. But when Elliott heard about it he was so happy and jumped high in the air and was overjoyed!
Weeks later Elliott and Kendall are performing a scene together and Elliott still has a dying love for Kendall. Kendall realises he is never going to get over her so she acts all day and all night and eventually Kendall has got a new best friend. A dragon.
So that's how I became an actor with my best friend Kendall! I guess they should make a movie called Kendall's Dragon!

Shelly ( the virtual tour guide ) was going to take a little yoshi named Alvin to Antarctica and was going to take wonderful photo's of him in the icy land. Why? Because he is going to be so small compared to Antarctica.

Amazing (Spectacular) Hash browns!
Yesterday we ventured into the classroom (not very exciting but it's what we did first) We sat down on the comfortable chairs and we watched an educational video on how to make HASH BROWNS!!! After the video, we went into the cooking room and put on stripy (long) aprons and white itchy hairnets. With hairnets we have to get all of our hair out of the way, with long hair it looks like you have a poo in the hairnet. Plus my hair is brown so it didn't look to good. Ok onto making the hash browns...
Ingredients:
Medium Potatoes
Salt,Pepper (optional)
Herbs and Spices etc
Method:
Peel the potatoes and fill a large pot with water and bring it to the boil. Or you can place the potatoes in the microwave and cook them on high for 4 minutes!
Chop the potatoes in half and place them in the water or in the microwave. When pierced with a knife they should be tender but do not overcook them or they will go mushy.
Grab your grater and grate the potatoes and form them into patties or any shape you want. To be continued...

Camp: Camp is challenging but I do love being at Huxley because as soon as we get there we get a nice hot shower after the Tramp that goes on forever!
Having Guitars,Ukulele's and Piano's: I would have never learned how to play guitar without having them in the music room so I am very happy that we have those resources!
Having an Awesome Teacher for two years: I was a bit upset when I found out that I was in M1 again because my friend Amie moved up into M2 but I still had Tessa and Charlize and Lily and Holly were coming up into M1 also. I also had an amazing Teacher for Two years!

What are we doing in Science Right Now...
We are doing Electricity History. Last lesson Mr Potter handed out some very delicate speakers, LED lights, Resistors and something else that I cannot remember. The speaker top was made out of paper or cardboard so that's why they were so delicate. Also on the bottom of them they had a whole bunch of numbers and one of the sign's looked like a horse shoe, plus that symbol is the last letter on the Roman Alphabet.
The LED lights were very small and they also stuck to the speaker because the speaker was magnetic. In another class he showed us a Christmas Tree that had LED light and it also played music.
Resistors either stop electricity or slow it down. They were also apart of the Christmas Tree because the LED lights had a pattern because they all lit up at different times so that was pretty cool.
The other thing that I couldn't remember looked like a small hard lolly and it had two wires sticking out of the bottom of it.

This story starts with a dress. Not any old dress. Not a checked school dress or a pinafore dress or a party dress or a princess dress. This is a bridesmaid dress. Having Italian Students in our Class...
I loved having an Italian student in our class because it was amazing having another girl in the class. It was so cool learning to speak Italian. We did a play called the " The First Day " and we wrote it all by ourselves. The author was Lily and I. We needed bullies so we asked Tessa and Charlize if they could join in. Lucrezia was the new girl. After all the work we did filming it we lost the footage so we had to do it live. Everyone loved it because they said it was great casting. They all said that I was not even acting I was just being myself because I was acting to be a dumb person. :( When we all said goodbye we were so sad and we will miss her.

My science experiment is called Invisible glass and it's to do with making glass invisible. My original experiment was reversing liquids but I changed it because when I put the test tube into the bigger test tube it went invisible. I am happy I changed my experiment because the first one was not working.

Reporting live from Rio de Jainero we are here with Portia Woodman who is a NZ sevens player ( we do not know what position she plays ). "After several injuries over the past few years she's back to her bruising best" They say. Portia replies with " I show up on the physio table and they lady there asks what wrong and I said can you give me a quick massage?"
Also Portia says " Nobodys got thier eye on us, we're not set for a medal,we'll take that" she says. " we're happy to be the underdogs!" she says.

A Relaxing Weekend
Saturday: First of I woke up at 9:35 am which is a new record for sleeping in because I never sleep in. Surprisingly I slept through Billy and Dad walking around the house having showers and eating breakfast, the surprising side of it is my bedroom is right next to the bathroom so I can hear everything and I mean everything. When I finally got up the fire was out and the house was in a mess. So the only thing I could think of doing was...getting some breakfast so I meandered over to the kitchen and grabbed some coco snaps with some additional banana slices to make it have some pizzazz!!
When the boys got back I asked "did you lose?" ( because I never ask did you win because they never do ) and they replied with "yes" and didn't tell me the score ( so it must've been bad ).
Later that day Billy and I were playing Uno,Snap and Go Fish ( all card games ) and we asked Dad what card games we could play and he came up with one instantly. The aim of the game is to have no cards left at the end of the game to become the King. Afterward the two losers play against eachother to see who the real loser is. To start the game you have to place the three of clubs down and you can put two three's or three three's so then the next person has to put down a card down higher than that number but it has to put down two because there's two three of clubs.

Today we did a test on maths and we have done that test every term with the same questions. This term I got 60% which is a improvement from last term. I am not proud of my score and I hope to improve next term.
Production: The reason is because I like being on stage and it was so much fun doing the performance in front of 120 people last night now tonight I have to do it again.
Oamaru: I loved going to all of the wonderful museums and my favourite museum was the prehistoric world. I did not like the trip there because I absolutely hate driving it is so boring.
Camp: Camp was a challenging part of the semester because the tramp was quite hard but Huxley was great! This year my dad came on tramp and that was the first ever time that one of my parents came on a camp of mine.
More Production: Lats night was the last night of the production and it was super fun. But it's also kind of sad because I never get to do that production again.

All of a sudden we heard ring,ring...,ring,ring and then it sounded like the mysterious object had been answered because we heard a faint voice and it said " Hello, I cannot wait for our appointment we have a lovely group of students down there waiting for you.......yep see you then "
We all thought it was a hoax and the workers were trying to trick us but then she said " Oh don't worry about that, that's just our phone, but we actually have no idea where it is and who that person is but don't worry you will all be fine "
After the freak show that went on just then we unpacked our fluffy, feather filled sleeping bags and lay them out on the soft carpet. The phone conversation kept replaying in my head and I shivered with anxiety.
" Right class, we have one more exhibit we would like to show to you, come right this way "
We eagerly followed Chloe and got pumped to see what was in store for us. We turned a corner down a long corridor and it was dark, very dark it was actually pitch black and we couldn't see anything, so we slowly walked down the corridor and then we came to a halt and guess what we heard....the phone ringing......ring,ring...ring,ring and then it suddenly stopped. That was all we heard from the creepy phone.
As fast as the speed of light it was bedtime and we had to venture back to our sleeping bags. I was getting sleepy and I started to shut my eyes and then I heard a creak and a crack. Then I heard a thunderous wind outside and it was making the building sway. Moments later I heard a door swing open and then I heard footsteps.....I counted them..1..2..3..4..5 and they were getting closer and louder and I started to shake and get worried, so I woke up Tessa and whispered in her ear " Can you hear those footsteps? " she replied " yes " .......... CRASH!!

My fav museum was the prehistoric world because he had a video about the velociraptor and the T-rex, and he told us he turned the rotting train station into a museum. Before he came up with the idea of making a museum he just walked up and down the street and came up with the idea of having a restaurant in it. After that the museum came to be.
The Forrester Art gallery was quite cool and the artwork was amazing and their was one piece that was made by Ewan McDougall which is pretty funny because one of my friends last name is McDougall. Also I saw 5kg's of fat.
The North Otago museum was pretty small because they are going under renovation but they have massive printers and a massive guillotine and some greenstone weapons.
The fossil museum was cool and he talked about the dolphin's and the whales that swam around New Zealand when it was under water.We also saw a whale bone and there was a little tiny number on it and there was two letters on it to show who found the fossil, they were initials.
What's happening in the weekend
On the morning of Sunday Me and my Dad are going to his friends house to see his golden retriever's. Well their kinda white so their practically called white retriever's. Next year the dogs might have puppies and me and my dad are going to buy one and he is going to be so cute, we are going to call him Mambo.

Last year when I was doing French Mrs Potter showed us the Louvre in Paris France and she said she has been inside it.

Term 2 Goals
Reading: I want to try and get every question right on reading tests and on the reading box green questions.

Storybird
Storybird is a website where you can write anything you want and publish it and post on the website. Over the last couple of days I have been working on a story called The Dog and the Butterfly. Yesterday I got a email from the creators of storybird and they said they loved my book. I was so amazed that they actually said my book was great.

The Prince and the Albatross Egg 1994
The video conference began with a girl from Halfway Bush School explaining the nesting habits at the Royal Albatross colony on the Otago Peninsula.
Prince Charles arrived and sat down quietly amongst the Wellington children and listened.
Then he took a microphone and began asking questions.
" What is the wing-span of the adult Albatross? "
"Up to 3.5 metres, " they all answered together.
" And how big is an Albatross egg? "
The Dunedin children held one up in front of the television camera .
The Prince noted that it was very big - no room for two eggs in an Albatross nest.
Then came an unexpected Royal question
" Can you eat an Albatross egg, do you think? "
There was a long silence. No one in New Zealand would think of eating a Royal Albatross egg.
There are only a few nesting pairs in New Zealand, and we are carefully protecting them, but other Albatross eggs? On sub-Antarctic islands which they are common?
Nobody knew the answer - except me. I was dying to butt in. I had lived on Albatross and Penguin eggs while teaching in the Falkland Islands. Huge eggs that filled a dinner plate, and turned into a heavy transparent jelly when cooked. Eggs distinctly fishy flavour
Being the oldest is not my idea of fun because the youngest always get what they want and if they do anything slightly wrong they blame it on the oldest.
If Billy hits me, scratches me, kicks me, etc he blames it on me. I go to tell Mum and Dad and then they come in to tell him off. When they come they say " Did you hit Blossom " and Billy goes " No I didn't! " in such a baby voice and then all of a sudden they stop telling him off and I exclaim " Look at his face, can't you tell he's smiling!" So the talking goes on and on until Billy screams " FINE!, I did hit Blossom!!" Then thats it no more questions.
Camp Recount
My fav part of camp was the camp concert because Holly and I had two plays to remember and we did it succesfully. The funniest one was the villager news one but it was called cookie news ( because we had a group called the cookies) It was super fun!!! I was lots of people because we switched characters all the time and during the performance there was a scene where Holly moved my cookie and I screamed out " NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

My feeling about Maths
Maths isn't my favourite subject but sometimes it is fun when I get to play with my friends on sumdog and studyladder. Maths is hard but it gets better ever since ALIM { advanced learning in mathmatics } On sumdog I am learning about how to subtract big numbers that are 3 digits. For example I have to subtract 356-213 I personally think that is really hard but it might be easy for some of you.

Crash goes the great,blue waves against the huge,concrete walls, the water splatters everywhere and it has a resemblance to white,fluffy foam. The waves can get up to 10 meters high because the force of the wind. Over in the horizon you can see a faint island far away it looks very beautiful when the sky is clear and the suns shining its U.V rays its just magnificent. I have an awesome memory that involves my older cousin,my younger cousin, and my brother Billy. We went down to the beach and it was a high tide which meant we had to run away from the waves. It was very amusing when Billy got his feet drenched with salty,sea water and we all were laughing hysterically! We had no time to think when we saw the waves creeping up on us like a sneaky fox and we had to sprint to the rocks and climb up to make sure our feet don't get wet!

Yesterday the class all received THAT letter...
I took it home and actually forgot that it was in my bag because 5 minutes before that I just did an hour of jazz and then 15 minutes of pointe work in a ROW!
This morning my mum got my bag out and she found THE letter and she put it out on the kitchen table. I was completely oblivious to what was happening in the kitchen so I didn't really worry about it much. We were just about to leave for school and I saw THE letter and said " Ohhhhh...well um? " Then she said " I kw their going to be talking about your..." I don't think I should finish that sentence.
Room 15
Plays Yesterday!
Well to start of this review I think I need to tell you what play I was in and who was in it. Well I was in a play called " The Santa Trap ". The characters in the play were Dylan,Michael,Tania,Amy, Goody Two Shoes Sophie and of course Santa. I was Dylan, James was Michael, Charlize was Tania, Lily was Amy, Tessa was Sophie and Nathaniel was Santa! I loved our play! It was really fun being the kids on the top of the naughty list! I was a messy boy who hadn't cleaned his room since before he was born! Charlize and James were twins who were a bit strange. James was Scottish! Lily had a character who is practically the ruler of them all. Tessa was Amy's little sister who always got great presents for Christmas. Nathaniel was still the Santa we all know and love and he got caught in a Santa Trap of course!
There was another play called " Problems at the Pole " where all the reindeer's went on strike! There was about 7 characters and most of them were reindeer. There Mrs Claus,Santa,Rudolph,Blitzen,Prancer,Donner,Vixen and other reindeer. It was really quite funny and I think that they picked the characters very well. Daniel was the loving Mrs Claus. Luca was Santa! Lewis was Rudolph. But I have no idea who was which reindeer because they didn't tell who was who.

I love DTG! It is my favourite subject apart from Options. I think that how DTG is apart of the Learning Curriculum. Right now we are making comics with Comic Life. Right now we are doing wasp traps and I think that is pretty fun. Last night I made a trap with vinegar and water as bait. We placed them today and there was only 6 of us that did it. Before the science classes I don't really get excited but I deal with it and get through the class.

I don't like maths because I get very confused with the whole idea of maths because if I can't think of the answer everyone blurts it out and I don't get a shot at it. I sometimes like maths because it can be fun but when it involves decimals and percentages I freeze up and not do anything.

Art Subject Review...
Personally I think that Art is a bit flat because I am not great at it. I actually used to be good at Art when I was little because one of my pieces got chosen to be in an art gallery in Dunedin. I actually won something and that was probably the end of my art career. Later on my artwork got transferred onto a dress for the production we did at my old school. I was so amazed that my artwork actually won 2nd prize but I am lacking in art skills now. I cannot draw but I love painting!

Wasps are Invading Twizel!!
If you ever seem to get stung by a wasp this is how you can treat it:
Tessa told me that when she got her first wasp sting she found out that she was actually allergic to them so she had to go to the doctors. To fix the wasp sting they mixed baking powder and water together it becomes a paste and they spread it on the area where she got stung. Once it has hardened they wipe it off and the swelling went down a bit. She had to continue that process for a couple days until the sting is all gone! It took 3 days for her but if it is terrible it might take a bit longer than 3 days!

I am a pair of Pointe Shoes...
If I had to bring an object to school I would bring a pair of Pointe Shoes...A pair of pointe shoes symbolises me because, Pointe shoes are hard at the tip but soft on the inside. That's like me because some days I am hard and some days I can be soft. You can have ouch pouches and they protect your feet from the hard end of the shoe. When my friends get upset I help them come back to being their normal selves. They help you grow to be taller and more confident. I want to help my friends become themselves and be more confident. They can become dirty, munted and that represents how you can get hurt during life but, you can wash them and make them clean again and you can do that with yourself. You will heal and not stay like that forever. That's how I am a pair of Pointe shoes.

The thing that gives me the creeps is someone following me when no one is around...
Walking down the gravel road
Walking past my friends abode
The faint footsteps along the rocky street
Hoping and praying that it's my own feet
I know that someone is there
He could do anything with his evil glare
I can predict that he will creep and crawl
He has lots of friends to yell and call
You freeze just in front of your door
It's like your feet are stuck to the floor

You turn around and see him standing up
He has a knife and he sinks it into your skin

Conserving Artifacts...
My thoughts on what it would be like to " work " in Antarctica...
I would not like to work in Antarctica because I would probably freeze and be so cold I wouldn't do anything. But the brighter side of working in Antarctica is you get paid for conserving objects which is pretty cool!What Shelly talked about...
How she could smell the seal blubber and it was quite overwhelming. She talked to about 4 people and and they all had a different opinion on working at Antarctica. Apparently seal blubber could of been used for cooking because it is practically fat. It would keep them warm so they didn't freeze! Later on today she is going to head back to Scott Base and learn how to preserve some artefacts.
They travelled to discovery hut and it was built by Robert Falcon Scott in 1902. It is also and Australian building because it was transported from Australia and it was actually a kit and they figured out how to put it up fairly quickly. It was also the first hut that he built in Antarctica! Discovery Hut is on Ross Island too!
There's some rules if you go into Discovery Hut:
Don't touch anything!
There's a boot mat to get all of the snow off.
No food and drink in there.
Try not to kick any of the artefacts on the floor or all around the hut.
You have to take off your pack

Oh my gosh! How did that happen! The silly Americans! I cannot believe it because Donald Trump said " I'm going to build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it " I am astonished at how they let it happen.
How I found out about the U.S.A election results...
Well, I was sitting on the couch watching my favourite show Masterchef Australia when the adds came on I was just about to get up and get my drink bottle when the U.S elections came on. One news was having an update on the elections and I heard this " Welcome the new president of the United States, Donald Trump. " I flopped onto the couch and let out a big sigh. Later on I went outside and told my Mum that Donald Trump is the new president.
How I feel about it...
I feel shocked! I am amazed at the Americans that voted for him. I am not scared about Donald Trump because he lives in America and is the president of them not us!
Why did he win...
Well I believe that Americans are a bit sexist because there was a girl running for president so they voted for the male AKA Donald Trump. Or maybe he rigged it because how else could he win!

Charlize: She thought that Hillary deserved to win. And Trumps hair is completely ridiculous!

" CRASH! " I give a little squeal and I clutch Tessa even harder. I'm shaking all over and the forbidding, eerie feel of the building isn't really helping. I listen closely and again I hear loud footsteps. There coming closer than before. All of a sudden I hear a menacing laugh. It's makes me feel like I am being watched by someone. I'm sitting in my sleeping bag wondering who is there. Tessa has decided to not listen anymore and rest her head on her pillow. She has gone right to sleep without even telling me! I forget about her and reach for my torch in my packed to the brim bag. I pull it out and switch it on. I see a shadowy figure in the corridor. It's seems to be moving around. Actually pacing up and down. I turn my torch off and I gather my things together.
I look down the corridor and see a pair of glowing, white, heartless eyes. I turn around and say to myself " It's fake your imagining it, Blossom " I spin around and the creature is gone. It's disappeared so fast it must be invisible. Suddenly I feel a cold breath on the back of my neck. Then I hear a hair-raising yell and then all I see is darkness.
2 hours later
I open my eyes. They have to adjust to the light because all I can see is a bright light in my face. A watchful eye keeps staring at me. Finally my eyes adjust to the light and I can see what is looming over me. It has razor sharp claws, A disgusting face, and last of all a secret inside. A petrifying face pops in front of me and I scream at the top of my lungs. Inside my head I hear a phone ringing. My eyes pop open and I see Tessa,Lily,Charlize and a doctor sitting in front of me. I ask " What's happening? "

Is what I heard from the opposite side of the track. All of a sudden I saw Charlize bolt down the track and I was getting pumped up for my turn in the relay. Charlize was approaching quick and fast. All of a sudden she said " Go " In a very quiet voice. I started to jog. Charlize passed the baton to me and I sprinted off. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the Upper Waitaki girl right beside me. We were neck and neck. I said to myself " I can do this " Suddenly I ran that little bit faster. I passed her and I was overjoyed with joy of course!

What it's like being in the wave team...
Well, being in the wave team is very stressful and kind of annoying. Why is it annoying? To start of, we have meetings at random times! She doesn't warn us and we sometimes miss them. But that's the stressful part of being in the wave team.
Yesterday we had the Amazing Race happening and that was probably the most stressed I've been since I've been in the team. Lily and I were looking after the " Word Game ". The point of the game is we give each team a set of letters and they have to make a word like " Umbrella " out of the letters. They have to spell it correctly before the time stops. We write down their time and announce who won out of the teams that vs each other. Overall it was so stressful and I was this close to yelling at the kids a little to harshly!

What it means to me...
This challenge isn't really a challenge because I automatically drink water at home and at school but I think that this will be a really hard challenge for some people because at school I see some people drinking sugary drinks so I wonder how hard this will be for them.
That's my opinion on sugary drinks and the challenge so here are some facts about water and sugary drinks.
Water
One of the things that makes our planet special is the presence of liquid water. Water is fundamental for all life; without it every living thing would die. It covers about 70% of Earth's surface and it makes up 65-75% of our bodies (82% of our blood is water). Even though water seems boring - no color, taste, or smell - it has amazing properties that make it necessary for supporting life.
It is said to help us prevent kidney damage, lose weight and increase concentration levels.
But experts now warn that drinking eight glasses of water a day is not good for you after all – and could be harmful.
They say that scientific claims behind long-standing government guidelines are worse than ‘nonsense’.
The NHS – along with leading doctors and nutritionists – advises the public to drink about 1.2 litres (or two-and-a-half pints) of water per day.
However, a report describes the danger of dehydration as a ‘myth’ and says there is no evidence behind claims that water prevents multiple health problems.
Sugary Drinks
Soda is one of the most consumed beverages in the United States, second only to water. Here in the States, Americans guzzle 57 gallons of soda per person every year, as if it wasn’t full of sugary calories. But what’s happening inside the bodies of soda consumers with each sip?

Wednesday: I walk home with my Dad and Brother and sometimes my little pug
Thursday: I walk over to ballet and do my solo and have awesome fun dancing with Kaya,Amie,Lily,Monique and I have the most fun dancing with Lily because our dance is like acting and dancing at the same time! Also we actually get to sing out loud.
Friday: I walk home or get picked up by my Dad and we go home
My week is very busy because only on 2 days of the week I get to go home after school. But I have lots of fun at ballet with all my friends.

In case you guys didn't know I'm a dragon and I am an actor. If your wondering how I became the wonderful actor I am now I will tell you the story from the very beginning... oh yeah and my name's Elliott.
" Kendall on set...where's Kendall?...KENDALL!!! "
If your wondering where I am, I'm hiding in a bush staring at my love Kendall. She is my idol. She is a brilliant actor. But there is one slight problem, She doesn't know I exist. That does mean there is a plus to it. I can stare at her all day long. Ahhh.
" Does anyone else see a dragon? Anyone, because I see one in the bush over there! Its massive and green and furry! "
I recognise that voice anywhere. That's Kendall's voice. It's amazing...when she speaks, it feels like I'm lying in clouds with her speaking and making me fe-
"KILL IT!!,It's going to destroy the set! It will set it ablaze,fire will go everywhere and the movie will be ruined.More importantly I will be ruined!" yelled the producer!
" It's alright, it looks like a friendly dragon, but it sort of looks like it's in a trance?"
Did Kendall just say I was friendly! Now's my chance to jump out and introduce myself!
" Hello, I'm Elliott, I am your biggest fan! You are an amazing actor. Your voice is like the sun on a hot summer day."
" Are you saying that my voice is like the sun. The ball of gas that sits there and burns people everyday!"
" Yep"
" Ugh, goodbye" As Kendall storms off Elliott is heartbroken. As he watches Kendall storm off he knows ho much he loves her and will come back tomorrow and love her even more.
The very next day Elliott arrives back at the movie set and find's Kendall. He spots her up on stage performing in her movie. Once she's done the scene Elliott follows her everywhere. Asking her question's. Kendall ignoring him. The producer comes over tries to get rid of Elliott but he is not budging. One time Elliott made an appearance on the big screen. The producer was furious. He knew that the movie would be a flop but as soon as the newspaper came out, the movie was rated with 5 stars!
The Daily Feed Report
What a smash! The real life " Beauty and the Beast " was a great hit. With the amazing animation of the green dragon, it just made the movie even better. The realism of the dragon and how Kendall actually believed that it was there was spectacular!

When the producer reads this he is astonished.He cannot believe that the dragon made our movie get 5 stars! When he reads the comments from the public there all amazing!
We loved the dragon! Kendall really looked at him like he was really there!
Amazing movie! Our family will definitely watch it again!
Wonderful!
Again the producer was amazed and he actually changed his mind about the dragon and purposely put him in the movie's as a co-star for Kendall. Kendall did not like the sound of it but she had to put up with it. But when Elliott heard about it he was so happy and jumped high in the air and was overjoyed!
Weeks later Elliott and Kendall are performing a scene together and Elliott still has a dying love for Kendall. Kendall realises he is never going to get over her so she acts all day and all night and eventually Kendall has got a new best friend. A dragon.
So that's how I became an actor with my best friend Kendall! I guess they should make a movie called Kendall's Dragon!

The most exciting part for me was when Smaug swept his tail around and crumbled the Great House to smithereens!

Scott Base
Scott Base, New Zealand's only Antarctic research station, perches on a low volcanic headland called Pram Point at the Southern End of Ross Island, 3500kms south of Dunedin and 1350kms from the South Pole.
Its setting is dramatic. An active volcano, Erebus, looming over its shoulder. The Ross Ice Shelf in ramming mode out in front causing the land, pressure waves of ice rear up.

Amazing (Spectacular) Hash browns!
Yesterday we ventured into the classroom (not very exciting but it's what we did first) We sat down on the comfortable chairs and we watched an educational video on how to make HASH BROWNS!!! After the video, we went into the cooking room and put on stripy (long) aprons and white itchy hairnets. With hairnets we have to get all of our hair out of the way, with long hair it looks like you have a poo in the hairnet. Plus my hair is brown so it didn't look to good. Ok onto making the hash browns...
Ingredients:
Medium Potatoes
Salt,Pepper (optional)
Herbs and Spices etc
Method:
Peel the potatoes and fill a large pot with water and bring it to the boil. Or you can place the potatoes in the microwave and cook them on high for 4 minutes!
Chop the potatoes in half and place them in the water or in the microwave. When pierced with a knife they should be tender but do not overcook them or they will go mushy.
Grab your grater and grate the potatoes and form them into patties or any shape you want. To be continued...

Options: I love getting to do Drama on Mondays and Thursdays because I love doing Drama. Drama is my Passion!
English: In English we get to do lots of things that I love to do. Like reading,spelling and going on the wiki!
Getting to choose what I do for Options: There are endless possibilities, well not endless possibilities but I love choosing!
Doing plays in Class: Like I said before I love doing drama and I love performing in front of people and on stage!
Camp: Camp is challenging but I do love being at Huxley because as soon as we get there we get a nice hot shower after the Tramp that goes on forever!
Having Guitars,Ukulele's and Piano's: I would have never learned how to play guitar without having them in the music room so I am very happy that we have those resources!
Having an Awesome Teacher for two years: I was a bit upset when I found out that I was in M1 again because my friend Amie moved up into M2 but I still had Tessa and Charlize and Lily and Holly were coming up into M1 also. I also had an amazing Teacher for Two years!

What are we doing in Science Right Now...
We are doing Electricity History. Last lesson Mr Potter handed out some very delicate speakers, LED lights, Resistors and something else that I cannot remember. The speaker top was made out of paper or cardboard so that's why they were so delicate. Also on the bottom of them they had a whole bunch of numbers and one of the sign's looked like a horse shoe, plus that symbol is the last letter on the Roman Alphabet.
The LED lights were very small and they also stuck to the speaker because the speaker was magnetic. In another class he showed us a Christmas Tree that had LED light and it also played music.
Resistors either stop electricity or slow it down. They were also apart of the Christmas Tree because the LED lights had a pattern because they all lit up at different times so that was pretty cool.
The other thing that I couldn't remember looked like a small hard lolly and it had two wires sticking out of the bottom of it.

The First Paragraph in my DEAR Book just now is...
Chapter 1
This story starts with a dress. Not any old dress. Not a checked school dress or a pinafore dress or a party dress or a princess dress. This is a bridesmaid dress. The most beautiful bridesmaid dress in the world. It's pink. It's not sickly bright pink stick-of-rock pink. It's a very soft and subtle pink. I don't think I've ever had raspberry ice cream but it's that colour: vanilla ice cream mixed with just a few red raspberries, all swirled together to make this beautiful shade of pink. It's made of silk, so smooth you want to keep stroking it. It has puff sleeves and a collar, both edged with a tiny piece of lace, a tight waist, and a very flared skirt with three ruffles.

Tilly's got a whole wardrobe full of Bridesmaids dresses- a pale pink one, a blue one even a red one with a soft white trim. The only problem is, there all in her imagination. In real life, it's Tilly's best friend Matty who has the beautiful pink dress to wear at the perfect white wedding. Tilly can't help being a teeny tiny bit jealous- more than anything in the world, she would love to be a bridesmaid at her own Mum and Dad's wedding. But that isn't going to happen. In fact, Tilly's worried she is never going to get to be a bridesmaid.

Having Italian Students in our Class...
I loved having an Italian student in our class because it was amazing having another girl in the class. It was so cool learning to speak Italian. We did a play called the " The First Day " and we wrote it all by ourselves. The author was Lily and I. We needed bullies so we asked Tessa and Charlize if they could join in. Lucrezia was the new girl. After all the work we did filming it we lost the footage so we had to do it live. Everyone loved it because they said it was great casting. They all said that I was not even acting I was just being myself because I was acting to be a dumb person. :( When we all said goodbye we were so sad and we will miss her.
My Science Experiment...
My science experiment is called Invisible glass and it's to do with making glass invisible. My original experiment was reversing liquids but I changed it because when I put the test tube into the bigger test tube it went invisible. I am happy I changed my experiment because the first one was not working.

Reporting live from Rio de Jainero we are here with Portia Woodman who is a NZ sevens player ( we do not know what position she plays ). "After several injuries over the past few years she's back to her bruising best" They say. Portia replies with " I show up on the physio table and they lady there asks what wrong and I said can you give me a quick massage?"
Also Portia says " Nobodys got thier eye on us, we're not set for a medal,we'll take that" she says. " we're happy to be the underdogs!" she says.

Olympic Gymnast
Cătălina Ponor is a Romanian artistic gymnast. She won three gold medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics, on balance beam, floor, and as part of the Romanian team.
She also earned a silver medal on floor and a bronze medal as part of the Romanian team at the 2012 Summer Olympics, as well as multiple World Championship and European Championship medals.
In June 2016, Ponor won two bronze medals at the European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships. A Relaxing Weekend
Saturday: First of I woke up at 9:35 am which is a new record for sleeping in because I never sleep in. Surprisingly I slept through Billy and Dad walking around the house having showers and eating breakfast, the surprising side of it is my bedroom is right next to the bathroom so I can hear everything and I mean everything. When I finally got up the fire was out and the house was in a mess. So the only thing I could think of doing was...getting some breakfast so I meandered over to the kitchen and grabbed some coco snaps with some additional banana slices to make it have some pizzazz!!
When the boys got back I asked "did you lose?" ( because I never ask did you win because they never do ) and they replied with "yes" and didn't tell me the score ( so it must've been bad ).
Later that day Billy and I were playing Uno,Snap and Go Fish ( all card games ) and we asked Dad what card games we could play and he came up with one instantly. The aim of the game is to have no cards left at the end of the game to become the King. Afterward the two losers play against eachother to see who the real loser is. To start the game you have to place the three of clubs down and you can put two three's or three three's so then the next person has to put down a card down higher than that number but it has to put down two because there's two three of clubs.

Semester 1 Highlights
Production: The reason is because I like being on stage and it was so much fun doing the performance in front of 120 people last night now tonight I have to do it again.
Oamaru: I loved going to all of the wonderful museums and my favourite museum was the prehistoric world. I did not like the trip there because I absolutely hate driving it is so boring.
Camp: Camp was a challenging part of the semester because the tramp was quite hard but Huxley was great! This year my dad came on tramp and that was the first ever time that one of my parents came on a camp of mine.
More Production: Lats night was the last night of the production and it was super fun. But it's also kind of sad because I never get to do that production again.

We all thought it was a hoax and the workers were trying to trick us but then she said " Oh don't worry about that, that's just our phone, but we actually have no idea where it is and who that person is but don't worry you will all be fine "
After the freak show that went on just then we unpacked our fluffy, feather filled sleeping bags and lay them out on the soft carpet. The phone conversation kept replaying in my head and I shivered with anxiety.
" Right class, we have one more exhibit we would like to show to you, come right this way "
We eagerly followed Chloe and got pumped to see what was in store for us. We turned a corner down a long corridor and it was dark, very dark it was actually pitch black and we couldn't see anything, so we slowly walked down the corridor and then we came to a halt and guess what we heard....the phone ringing......ring,ring...ring,ring and then it suddenly stopped. That was all we heard from the creepy phone.
As fast as the speed of light it was bedtime and we had to venture back to our sleeping bags. I was getting sleepy and I started to shut my eyes and then I heard a creak and a crack. Then I heard a thunderous wind outside and it was making the building sway. Moments later I heard a door swing open and then I heard footsteps.....I counted them..1..2..3..4..5 and they were getting closer and louder and I started to shake and get worried, so I woke up Tessa and whispered in her ear " Can you hear those footsteps? " she replied " yes " .......... CRASH!!

Oamaru's Museum Trip
My fav museum was the prehistoric world because he had a video about the velociraptor and the T-rex, and he told us he turned the rotting train station into a museum. Before he came up with the idea of making a museum he just walked up and down the street and came up with the idea of having a restaurant in it. After that the museum came to be.
The Forrester Art gallery was quite cool and the artwork was amazing and their was one piece that was made by Ewan McDougall which is pretty funny because one of my friends last name is McDougall. Also I saw 5kg's of fat.
The North Otago museum was pretty small because they are going under renovation but they have massive printers and a massive guillotine and some greenstone weapons.
The fossil museum was cool and he talked about the dolphin's and the whales that swam around New Zealand when it was under water.We also saw a whale bone and there was a little tiny number on it and there was two letters on it to show who found the fossil, they were initials.
What's happening in the weekend
On the morning of Sunday Me and my Dad are going to his friends house to see his golden retriever's. Well their kinda white so their practically called white retriever's. Next year the dogs might have puppies and me and my dad are going to buy one and he is going to be so cute, we are going to call him Mambo.

Term 2 Goals
Reading: I want to try and get every question right on reading tests and on the reading box green questions.
Writing: I want to produce great work on storybird and have great vocabulary.
Maths: I want to move up to the top group by the end of the year.
Storybird
Storybird is a website where you can write anything you want and publish it and post on the website. Over the last couple of days I have been working on a story called The Dog and the Butterfly. Yesterday I got a email from the creators of storybird and they said they loved my book. I was so amazed that they actually said my book was great.

The Prince and the Albatross Egg 1994
The video conference began with a girl from Halfway Bush School explaining the nesting habits at the Royal Albatross colony on the Otago Peninsula.
Prince Charles arrived and sat down quietly amongst the Wellington children and listened.
Then he took a microphone and began asking questions.
" What is the wing-span of the adult Albatross? "
"Up to 3.5 metres, " they all answered together.
" And how big is an Albatross egg? "
The Dunedin children held one up in front of the television camera .
The Prince noted that it was very big - no room for two eggs in an Albatross nest.
Then came an unexpected Royal question
" Can you eat an Albatross egg, do you think? "
There was a long silence. No one in New Zealand would think of eating a Royal Albatross egg.
There are only a few nesting pairs in New Zealand, and we are carefully protecting them, but other Albatross eggs? On sub-Antarctic islands which they are common?
Nobody knew the answer - except me. I was dying to butt in. I had lived on Albatross and Penguin eggs while teaching in the Falkland Islands. Huge eggs that filled a dinner plate, and turned into a heavy transparent jelly when cooked. Eggs distinctly fishy flavour

Being the Oldest in the Family
Being the oldest is not my idea of fun because the youngest always get what they want and if they do anything slightly wrong they blame it on the oldest.
If Billy hits me, scratches me, kicks me, etc he blames it on me. I go to tell Mum and Dad and then they come in to tell him off. When they come they say " Did you hit Blossom " and Billy goes " No I didn't! " in such a baby voice and then all of a sudden they stop telling him off and I exclaim " Look at his face, can't you tell he's smiling!" So the talking goes on and on until Billy screams " FINE!, I did hit Blossom!!" Then thats it no more questions.
Camp Recount
My fav part of camp was the camp concert because Holly and I had two plays to remember and we did it succesfully. The funniest one was the villager news one but it was called cookie news ( because we had a group called the cookies) It was super fun!!! I was lots of people because we switched characters all the time and during the performance there was a scene where Holly moved my cookie and I screamed out " NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"

My feeling about Maths
Maths isn't my favourite subject but sometimes it is fun when I get to play with my friends on sumdog and studyladder. Maths is hard but it gets better ever since ALIM { advanced learning in mathmatics } On sumdog I am learning about how to subtract big numbers that are 3 digits. For example I have to subtract 356-213 I personally think that is really hard but it might be easy for some of you.

Crash goes the great,blue waves against the huge,concrete walls, the water splatters everywhere and it has a resemblance to white,fluffy foam. The waves can get up to 10 meters high because the force of the wind. Over in the horizon you can see a faint island far away it looks very beautiful when the sky is clear and the suns shining its U.V rays its just magnificent. I have an awesome memory that involves my older cousin,my younger cousin, and my brother Billy. We went down to the beach and it was a high tide which meant we had to run away from the waves. It was very amusing when Billy got his feet drenched with salty,sea water and we all were laughing hysterically! We had no time to think when we saw the waves creeping up on us like a sneaky fox and we had to sprint to the rocks and climb up to make sure our feet don't get wet!

Yesterday the class all received THAT letter...
I took it home and actually forgot that it was in my bag because 5 minutes before that I just did an hour of jazz and then 15 minutes of pointe work in a ROW!
This morning my mum got my bag out and she found THE letter and she put it out on the kitchen table. I was completely oblivious to what was happening in the kitchen so I didn't really worry about it much. We were just about to leave for school and I saw THE letter and said " Ohhhhh...well um? " Then she said " I kw their going to be talking about your..." I don't think I should finish that sentence.
